At Carterville we believe that church membership is a very important step in someone’s faith journey. Church membership is a commitment to a body of believers. Being a part of a church body of believers allows people to join in celebration in the good times, and offer support and encouragement during the difficult ones. At Carterville we ask that all prospective members take three steps before becoming members.
At Carterville, we require all members to be baptized by immersion. If you have already been baptized, you can skip this step. If you have not, we would like to invite you to take the opportunity. Baptism is the outwardly expression of what God is doing in your life. Baptism does not save someone; accepting Jesus Christ in your life does.

I WOULD LIKE TO BE BAPTIZEDConnecting At Carterville is our membership class for all perspective members. There are two reasons we ask all prospective members to take this class. First, it gives all perspective members an opportunity to learn about Carterville Baptist Church. Secondly, the class allows the staff to get to know prospective members and see how, or if, they are connected in our church.
SIGN UP FOR CONNECTING AT CARTERVILLEOnce Steps 1 & 2 are complete, you are ready to be voted on by the church. This can be done by coming to the front during the response time of either a Sunday morning or evening worship service. This will also give Dr. Skipper, or a member of the church staff, a chance to introduce you to the church. If this is just not for you, the church staff is happy to accommodate you with other options.
