About Us
Who We Are
Carterville Baptist Church is a family of believers who want to love and honor God while making a difference with our lives. We want to be a blessing to Petal and to the world by helping people connect with God and grow in their personal relationship with Him. Our motto is, "To know Jesus and to make Him known." We hope that you will find the life God wants for you and delight in the pure love and faithful provision of God's grace.
We gather on Sundays and Wednesdays for worship and discipleship, but understand that we are the church all week long. We know that you may have some questions about what to expect if you join us on a Sunday or Wednesday, so here are a few of the answers you are looking for.
Sundays
On Sundays our worship style is blended. We have praise band and a choir. We sing contemporary choruses as well as hymns. Our goal in worship is that God is honored and that we have the opportunity to collectively meet with Him. We make effective use of media and musical styles, but at the end of the day it's all about God. You will worship with people who wear a suit every Sunday and you will worship with people who wear jeans and a pullover. Please see our schedule for a list of our Sunday activities.
Wednesdays
Wednesday night is our night for discipleship. We have a fantastic adult discipleship program that allows you to chart the course for your own growth according to your personal needs. We offer courses on Bible Study, Parenting, Marriage, Womens' and Mens' Minsitry and everything in between all from a Biblical Perspective. Our Youth group and Children's ministry meet on Wednesday nights as well. All of our Wednesday night programs meet at 6:15 and last until about 7:30. We offer a family supper from 5:00 until 6:00 every Wednesday night.
Our Beliefs
Carterville Baptist Church is a Member of the Southern Baptist Convention, Mississippi Baptist Convention, and the Lebanon Baptist Association. Our basic beliefs reflect those held in the Baptist Faith and Message. Most important to us is that Jesus is the Son of God. Salvation comes through faith in Christ as a gift of God's grace. The Bible is word of God. Heaven is a real place prepared for God's children. God cares about you.
